Engineer-Civil Projects (Staff Level 1)
The purpose of this position is:
Support the Section in coordination and controlling Civil-Geotechnical for non mining projects at High Land area by providing engineering recommendation, maintain and develop the existing and future databases and monitoring system as listed on the Civil-Geotech Risk Management System; in order to ensure all Civil-Geotechnical aspects for non mining project are comply with company and international standards and to support department's short and long-term goals.
Main responsibilities of this position are:
1. Perform geotechnical inspection, investigation, engineering assessment & design and present the result to the relevant parties, in order to allow them to assess the progress and make decision with valid and reliable information mainly for the long term projects.
2. Organizing field and laboratory geotechnical investigation at Highland as required in supporting the Section and other departments for current and future projects; and provide reports accordingly and recommendation as required.
3. Carry out regular inspection to the High Land project areas as scheduled and provide recommendation as required and ensuring the implementation; and Provide civil geotechnical support to remote communities and response to any emergency call instantly.
4. Maintain communication with internal and external parties who include auditors, consultants, and authorities in regard with Civil-Geotechnical issues to ensure the recommendation are effectively communicated.
5. Maintain and develop Geotechnical database risk evaluation along main road from and Wanagon Valley database (prepare geotechical risk map and provide recommendation for critical areas).
6. Maintain and develop Geotechnical risk database along HEAT road and provide recommendation for critical areas.
7. Maintain and develop Soil Laboratory Databases in coordination with Sucofindo and Geo Data Services Department to ensure that all soil testing are undertaken based on standards, well recorded and managed, and easy to be accessed by clients and other parties who needed.
8. Develop and set up a Risk Database for Townsite area includes Hidden Valley, Rainbow Ridge, 68 housing complexes and Ridge Camp and 68 barracks (provide a risk map and socialized to the related parties).
9. Prepare, ensure and undertake installation of any monitoring instruments at critical areas (including alarm system) at the non-mining infrastructures and projects at surrounding PTFI environment.
10. Undertake regular reading for all monitoring instruments under his/her responsibility and setup the early warning system related to each area/projects to be disseminated to relevant clients/parties.
11. Maintain and improve section safety performance by enforcing and following company Standards to meet the PT Freeport Indonesia Safety and Environmental Programs and standards so that there will be no fatalities or injuries within the section or contractors under section's responsibilities.
The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:
• S1 degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering with minimum 3 years working experience on civil-geotechnical projects, preferably in mining industry.
• Strong communication skill and presentation skill.
• Good understanding in geotechnical and geological knowledge.
• Good understanding in field and geotechnical laboratory procedure.
• Familiar with practical geotechnical engineering software such as SLOPE/W, PLAXIS. ROCKFALL, etc.
• Familiar with CAD engineering software such as AutoCAD and AutoDESK.
• Fluently in English both writing and oral.
• Able to drive a car.
